LightAtmosphere over effects
Soft shadows, a reflection, a bright strip across a surface: light determines not just what becomes visible, but how an image feels.
What began as a childhood fascination has been my professional passion since 1990. I’m fascinated by how light and perspective can transform something familiar. And how a fleeting moment can become something lasting.
What shapes my perspectiveNot every subject seems special at first glance. Often, a different position, a little patience, or a change in the light makes all the difference.

Take a step to the side. Move closer. Or deliberately step back. A different angle sometimes tells you more than a new subject.

Some moments can’t be planned. That’s precisely what makes them precious. For me, the camera is also a reminder to be truly present when it matters.
My enthusiasm for diving and Japanese sports cars has something in common: the joy of discovering a world down to its smallest details.

When diving, colours, distances, and your sense of space change. What seems ordinary above water suddenly looks entirely different below it. That new perspective fascinates me.

Japanese sports cars fascinate me with their combination of design and engineering. The MR-S really caught my eye here. The driving experience and sportiness are simply phenomenal. As a photographer, I’m drawn to the interplay of contours, surfaces, and reflections: how light reveals a form.
André Klusen · Personal. With perspective
Our underwater wedding in 2014, our dog joining us in 2015, and the birth of my daughter in 2017: to me, the most personal moments are more than photographic subjects. They’re part of our life. Here, I share their stories—without turning them into a public family gallery.
Looking closely, understanding details, bringing ideas to life. What excites me about images also guides my work developing for the web.
